Parking tickets in Tanzania are managed through TAUSI โ the official government platform run by TAMISEMI. Debt accumulates silently and can catch you off guard at checkpoints or during vehicle inspection. Here's how to check your status, and how to never have to check manually again.
GariWatch checks TAUSI for you โ automatically
GariWatch monitors your vehicle on TAUSI every 6 hours across all city councils and alerts you instantly when a new parking ticket appears. No manual checking needed.

TAUSI (Tanzania Urban Services) is the official government platform at tausi.tamisemi.go.tz that manages parking fees and fines issued by city councils across Tanzania. When a parking warden issues a ticket against your vehicle, it gets recorded in TAUSI under your plate number along with a GePG control number for payment.

How to Check Your Parking Tickets Manually
If you prefer to check yourself, here's how to do it on the TAUSI portal:
Go to tausi.tamisemi.go.tz
Open the TAUSI portal in your browser. Works on both desktop and mobile.
Navigate to the parking section
Look for the parking services or vehicle fine check section on the portal.
Enter your plate number
Type your full vehicle registration number. The system searches across all city councils.
Review your parking debt
If tickets exist, you'll see the total amount owed and a GePG control number for payment.
Pay via M-Pesa or bank
Use the GePG control number via Lipa na M-Pesa (Pay Bill) or at any participating bank branch.
If you drive in multiple cities, check under all relevant city council codes โ a vehicle that parks in both Arusha and Dar es Salaam may have tickets recorded under different councils.
Rather than logging into TAUSI manually every week, GariWatch checks all city councils automatically and notifies you the moment anything changes on your plate.

Unpaid parking tickets accumulate over time. City council enforcement officers and traffic police can check your plate against TAUSI during routine stops. Vehicles with significant unpaid debt may be clamped or impounded, particularly in Arusha and Dar es Salaam. For PSV and commercial vehicles, unpaid fines can affect road worthiness renewals.
Checking Parking Tickets on a Used Vehicle
If you recently bought a used vehicle, check for parking tickets immediately. Parking fines follow the plate โ not the previous owner. Any unpaid tickets will appear under your new vehicle's number and become your responsibility. A pre-purchase TAUSI check takes under a minute and could save you thousands of shillings.
Always save your M-Pesa confirmation after paying. It can take up to 48 hours for TAUSI to reflect the payment. Your receipt is proof in case of any dispute.
